Nourishing the Community – Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC

Brevitas is pleased to continue our partnership with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina and support their work with a $1,000 donation (5,000 meals). We believe that it is our responsibility to give back to our community, and we are proud to contribute to such an essential cause.
The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina has been working hard to fight hunger in North Carolina since 1980 and serves 508,430 people, including 164,510 children, living in food-insecure households. With hunger rising to become an outright epidemic affecting more than just the families living below the poverty line, their services to provide nutritious food is paramount.
Some of their latest initiatives to nourish people in 2023 include:
- Kids Cafes: The Food Bank partners with community organizations to provide safe places and hot meals to children after school, as well as mentoring and tutoring services.
- Healthy Opportunities Pilot (HOP) Program: As part of the HOP program, households will receive utilities assistance, housing assistance, and free bus passes. This aims to connect people with resources that create healthier communities in the long run.
- Moore County Response: 45,000 Sandhills residents were left without power after a domestic terrorism incident in December. In response, the Food Bank distributed emergency food to those affected by power outages in and around Moore County.
We are honoured to be able to support this organization and to help those most in need keep food on the table. Together we can close the meal gap where families don’t have to choose between paying the bills or eating a meal.
