August Aiding the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Impactful Research

Heart disease is often dubbed the silent killer, claiming one life every five minutes in Canada. Equally alarming is that 9 in 10 Canadians have at least one risk factor for heart conditions or stroke. Upon realizing the impact of this threat, the Brevitas team unanimously agreed to support the Heart & Stroke Foundation during our ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ charitable campaign.
The Heart & Stroke Foundation’s mission focuses on preventing high blood pressure and researching new life-saving interventions. Four goals can define the organization’s purpose:
- Fight for prevention: Empowering Canadians to live a healthier lifestyle and reduce risk
- Save lives: Ensuring faster and better emergency response
- Transform Recovery: Helping survivors recover and achieve the best quality of life
- Invest in life-saving research: Conducting life-saving research for 60 years and counting
Since 1952, more than $1.6 billion has been invested in research. These investments have made it possible for the organization to raise heart and brain health standards worldwide. It is estimated that over the past 6 decades, the organization has contributed to a 75% decline in heart disease and stroke death rates.
We at Brevitas have been blown away by the multitude of research breakthroughs the organization has made since 1954. We are grateful to donate to and be a part of their journey to strive toward life uninterrupted by heart disease and stroke.
