January 2,500 Meals Donation with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC

Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC Donation

We are pleased to start off our “Attitude of Gratitude”, 12 Months of Giving Campaign with a $500 donation to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina! This is the equivalent of 2,500 meals provided to those in need in our community.

A study from Feeding America [The Impact of Coronavirus on Food Insecurity] projects food insecurity has grown by 11% due to the pandemic. In response to the crisis, Brevitas has partnered with the Food Bank to combat food insecurity.

This year, the Food Bank has set up some exceptional initiatives to engage and support the community:

  1. Chef’s Feast: This event features local chefs who each prepare a portion of the dinner along with a live auction and a short program.
  2. Stop Summer Hunger: This campaign aims to feed children during summer by hosting a public challenge match to raise funds.
  3. Holiday Meals: Aimed at helping families put food on the table during the holiday season, this initiative features a matching challenge component where all donations are tripled.

It was a pleasure to meet the team at the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC and learn more about their upcoming initiatives. Together we can create a brighter future where families don’t have to choose between paying the bills or eating a meal.
